This optical slave will work with most flash units but it will NOT work with the Canon EX flash units.

You must have a cord to connect this optical slave to your flash unit.  Many flash units come with a PC cord that will connect to this optical slave.

This device will immediately fire a connected flash unit when another flash burst is detected. This allows a remote flash to be fired without any connecting wires.

It requires no batteries or other power; it runs off the flash unit it is connected to.

It works with both small, battery-powered flash units and studio flash units.

The connector on the optical slave is a female PC connector.

The triggering flash must not emit a pre-flash as this will prematurely fire the connected flash.

It is small, about ½ x ¾ x 1 inches.  The slave and circuitry is encased in solid resin, so it is extremely rugged.
