Features:
-
A general-purpose optical slave that will function with most flash units that accept a miniphone plug (3.5mm - 1⁄8") sync connector. It can also be used with many other flash units, including the optical slave finicky Canon EX line, by utilizing a hotshsoe adapter with a miniphone sync port (3.5mm - 1⁄8"). See listing below.
-
Connect to Canon 430EX, 430EX II, 270EX II, Nikon SB-600, SB-700 and other flash units without a sync port via the FlashZebra.com Item #0135 hotshoe adapter.
-
Connects directly to the sync port on the popular Alien Bees, PCB Einstein, Elinchrom D-Lites, Calumet Genesis, and other flash units that have the popular miniphone sync port (3.5mm - 1⁄8")
-
One very important requirement: the triggering flash must not emit ANY pre-flash as this will prematurely fire the flash connected to the optical slave. Therefore this optical slave does NOT support ETTL, iTTL, CLS, TTL, or any other camera or flash protocol that relies on a pre-flash for function.
-
Integrated 50cm (18 inches) cord. This cord accommodates more flexible positioning of the optical slave at the most advantageous position to gather light. This allows the flash unit to be concealed behind a corner, or other architectural feature, or in a softbox and still have the optical slave in a position to efficiently gather light for remote tripping.
-
This device will immediately fire a connected flash unit when another flash burst is detected. This allows a remote flash to be fired without any connecting wires back to the camera.
-
This actual optical slave is small, about ½ x ¾ x ¾ inches. This allows the optical slave to be easily concealed.
-
This optical slave requires no batteries or other power; it runs off the flash unit to which it is connected.
